Cody Rhodes was unhappy, unfulfilled, and full of untapped potential in WWE, which is the entire reason why he left. He’s only been gone a few weeks and he’s already booking huge matches for August.

During the most recent episode of the Stone Cold podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer spoke about Rhodes’ release from WWE and is questioning if Cody made the right call with the upcoming WWE Draft and brand split bound to give a lot more opportunity in WWE.

You can listen to the full episode right here. Below is what Rhodes had to say about the timing of his release:

“Cody Rhodes decided to ride off into the sunset. He wasn’t happy with creative he wasn’t happy that he couldn’t do what he wanted to do. His value would have been at an all-time high because of the brand split and they’re going to need all hands on deck. And so maybe him leaving wasn’t such a good idea, to take himself out of the picture, as he might have had a little bit more leverage or might have been used in a higher regard due to the brand split because they’re going to need all the talent they can muster.”

Do you think Cody Rhodes would have been given a bigger role after the brand split?
