The spectacular thing about the impact the “Cruiserweight Classic” had on WWE programming is it really didn’t matter who emerged the winner of the tournament in the end.

Make no mistake, TJ Perkins became a superstar earlier this week, but he’s the head of the curve. Several other cruiserweights are headed to Raw and became stars because of the “Cruiserweight Classic.”

Based off the success of the tournament for the WWE Network, there is no question that there will be another CWC tournament next year, but WWE is thinking of reusing the idea for another tournament.

According to a report from Wrestlezone.com, WWE is planning a Women’s tournament with very similar structure and goals to the CWC tournament we just saw.

The idea would be to find the best women in wrestling just the same and have a tournament. It’s too early in the planning process to know if as many will be signed, but it’s expected to start in early 2017.

The current Women’s Division on both Raw and SmackDown are very strong right now, so having a series like this could only beef up those rosters and give NXT the greatest women’s roster we’ve ever seen.

Do you want to see a Women’s tournament similar to the “Cruiserweight Classic?”
