I’m a huge fan of Becky Lynch. I saw her in Shimmer as Rebecca Knox and thought she was a good hand. Honestly, I wasn’t keeping close tabs on her and she got lost in the indy scene for me.

But then, I was watching NXT and she came out to an Irish dancing jip gimmick and I was pleasantly surprised and disappointed at the same time. Knox in NXT was a good thing, but that’s not what she deserved.

Over the next few months, we saw that gimmick fade away, we watched her natural talent come out, and Lynch and The Boss tore the house down at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable. Lynch had a career defining match and I thought I saw the future of NXT born before my eyes.

This summer, Becky got called up with Charlotte and Sasha Banks to the main roster as Bayley emerged the heroine of NXT. Since their call up, Bayley as won the NXT Women’s Championship, Charlotte won the WWE Divas Championship, Sasha Banks is the most over female wrestler on the roster by a mile, and Becky Lynch is…there.

To me, this is a case of WWE clearly not having the first clue how to book Becky Lynch on the main roster. She’s been Charlotte’s sidekick and an afterthought to the Divas Revolution. Again, this is not what she deserves. Will her talent take her to new heights again when the time is right?

The difference is in NXT, she was given the opportunity to change the perception. It’s going to be much more difficult to do that on the main roster.

The Divas’ division is overflowing with talent right now. It’s true that not everyone can be pushed at once, but WWE’s booking style focuses on the few and not the many. It has always been that way. That is great for the few, but the many are left to get over on their own, or get left behind. Lynch is right on the fence.

When Paige turned on Charlotte and Becky, I was scratching my head because I didn’t understand the logic behind that choice to turn her. Yes, she’s better as a heel and Charlotte vs. Paige is a cool match-up.

But, Paige and Charlotte have no history. It’s a when stars collide kind of match, but Charlotte isn’t going to lose the Divas Championship to her first challenger after winning it from Nikki Bella after a year. Paige also doesn’t need the championship more than Charlotte, so what was the point if turning her in the first place?

Becky Lynch has some history with Charlotte and they genuinely feel like friends on-screen. They never wrestled in NXT, so their feud would personal, especially when you consider Lynch turning heel would add a lot to her character, allow her to wrestle, and get her out of the background.

A loss wouldn’t hurt her momentum either and that feud would last long then “Survivor Series”. If WWE wanted Paige heel, they could have turned her and put her in a feud with a thriving Sasha Banks. Banks vs. Paige is more interesting to me in the ring.

The least WWE could book is Natalya and Lynch in a tag team against Team Bad. That would be a good second feud, but I’m worried Lynch is going to stay in the background. I think WWE screwed up and it was Lynch that should have turned, not Paige.
