CM Punk caused quite the stir last year when he signed a contract with UFC. Since then, he’s been training his the intention of fighting at some point in 2016. The plan on paper was to fight in early 2016.

However, Punk recently suffered a shoulder injury during training and now the fight has been pushed back to the summer.

Dana White was asked about Punk’s status recently and he gave the following response”

“He’ll fight – I’m going to say before summer, probably before summer,” White said a Q&A session with fans on Friday.

“Listen, he doesn’t have any fights yet, man,” White said. “Let him take his time and work his way in.”

Holm vs. Rousey is tonight on the UFC 193 card. IF Punk is to make his debut next year in UFC next summer, it’s expected that Punk could make his fighting debut in Las Vegas at UFC 200 in July.

Obviously, that is meant to be a major event, so advertising Punk’s debut for that show would be ideal considering the hype of the event and Punk’s debut.

There are a lot of people that are starting to belive that Punk won’t fight at all in UFC. He’d no doubt make a good commentator for UFC.
