His status for “Survivor Series” is still up in the air, but his return towards the beginning of 2017 is essentially a guarantee. There is little chance that WWE officials are willing to let the biggest “Royal Rumble” event in history go by without John Cena on the card.

The belief based on previous rumors is that Cena would be reentering the feud with AJ Styles and his quest to become the sixteen time WWE World Champion would continue, but it looks like he could be facing a new opponent when he returns to WWE instead.

According to a report from Four3Four.com, John Cena will be entering into a feud with Baron Corbin, who is expected to receive a huge push over the coming months.

Corbin securing a role in the Raw versus SmackDown traditional “Survivor Series” five on five elimination match is expected to be a launching pad for him to become a more prominent member of SmackDown, which will launch him into the feud with Cena.

Cena vs. Corbin will be a big test for the latter to see if he can hang with the former on a huge stage like the “Royal Rumble.” Both men are expected to be a part of the “Royal Rumble” match as well.
