Former WWE Diva Layla El Gets Married

There have been wedding bells in the air for a lot of WWE superstars. Earlier this month, Randy Orton got married while he’s away recovering from a shoulder injury and getting surgery. Former WWE star, Santino Marella got married earlier this week in Mexico and Rusev and Lana went public with their engagement.

It’s being reported that former the last WWE Women’s Champion, Layla El just got married as well the other day. Layla posted the following photo on her Instagram this week:

In July, Layla El officially announced her retirement from professional wrestling. Her decision to leave the industry was due to her tiring of the work schedule, travel, and grind of the business on her body and mind.

However, her upcoming marriage no doubt played a significant role in her retirement since she saw her future in wrestling coming to an end, so she sped up the process.

Layla El married fellow former WWE performer Richard Young (Ricky Ortiz) Glendale, Arizona in the Christ Temple. Layla and Young’s engagement was announced in July just before her retirement.

During her tenure in WWE, Layla is best known for her alliance with Michelle McCool in the team “Laycool”. She was a Divas Champion, the final Women’s Champion to date, and the winner of the 2006 Divas Search contest.
