Last week, Solomon Crowe requested his release from NXT and WWE. The news came as a surprise because Crowe hadn’t been public about any issues within WWE, but his release was for undisclosed reasons at the time. However, that reason has been revealed by Sami Callihan now that the smoke has cleared.

According to ProWrestlingSheet.com, Crowe left WWE on extremely good terms and would be welcomed back in the future without hesitation.

The main reason Callihan decided to ask for his release is he had tried many different gimmicks in NXT, but he wanted to alter his perception and reestablish himself on the independents as one of the best wrestlers in the world. Callihan felt he wouldn’t be able to do that in NXT and was better off asking for his release.

Crowe’s release isn’t the first time someone has asked for their release to search for greener pastures, and it won’t be the last. Earlier this year, Justin Gabriel did the same thing.

Sami Callihan has already won the 2CW Championship and appears to be off and running. The “hacker” gimmick may not have worked for him, but Callihan is a very good talent. In the future, maybe he can return to NXT or even the main roster better than ever.
