WWE has been actively pursuing and scouting major talents from all other wrestling promotions. It’s only natural that WWE would gain significant interest in some wrestlers from New Japan Pro Wrestling.

However, there has been a great deal reported about WWE pursuing AJ Styles for a run in NXT, or even in WWE. The Phenomenal One’s contract is expiring with NPJW in January, but we’ll have to wait and see how that story develops. Styles isn’t the only superstar WWE is interested in bringing in this January.

WWE is now reportedly interested in signing the current IWGP Intercontinental Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura. The”King of Strong Style” is also going to be a free agent when his deal expires in January. The rumors circling is WWE would be interested in bringing him to NXT around the same time that Hideo Itami makes his return.

The possibilities are endless for Nakamura with his experience. His ties to Japan would make him an obvious opponent for Itami, Balor, or anyone else in NXT or WWE that wants to get in the ring with one of the best wrestlers in the world today.

Nakamura would be a massive signing by WWE and could open the door for many more NJPW stars to make the crossover, including AJ Styles.
