According to the Facebook page of the German promotion Westside Xtreme Wrestling, wXw, former WWE Star Ezekiel Jackson has informed their promoters that after his match last night, he has officially made the decision to retire from pro wrestling. This appears to be a personal decision and not injury related.

Rycklon Stephens has had a wrestling career that spanned almost a decade. Stephens signed with WWE and went to FCW in 2007. He was given the name Ezekiel Jackson. In 2009, Jackson was drafted to ECW where he would work consistently with William Regal, Vladimir Kozlov and Christian. On the final episode of the brand, Jackson defeated Christian and was crowned the final ECW World Heavyweight Champion.

Jackson was also successful during his time on the WWE main roster. He would become an Intercontinental Champion in 2010 by defeating Wade Barrett. His issues would be his inability to stay healthy with consistent injuries getting in his way. Jackson and WWE would part ways in early 2014.

Since then, Stephens has appeared in TNA as Rycklon and in Lucha Underground as Big Ryck.

Stephens had a solid career and had a few big moments. He’ll go down in history as the last ECW World Champion which is saying something, and he was involved in Lucha Underground as a major heel for the promotion. The wrestling industry is better off for Stephen’s effort and time.
