It’s clear that WWE is driving the wedge between the Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens friendship. The conflict between Owens and Seth Rollins is going to force Jericho to make some choices over the next few weeks and especially at “Hell in a Cell.”

It was rumored that WWE was debating about making the WWE Universe title match at the PPV a triple threat match between the three men. However, they’ve decided to give us that match for free on Raw next week and let Y2J do something else at the event.

According to a report from Sportskeeda.com, Chris Jericho is expected to be announced as the special guest referee for the bout. WWE may wait until the night of to make the announcement, but it looks like Y2J will be entering “Hell in a Cell” after all.

Owens vs. Rollins has a lot at stake, including the WWE Universal title. There is a lot of potential for Jericho to cost Owens the title and start a feud with him heading into “Survivor Series” and beyond, or he could cost Rollins the title again like he has before.

Do you think Chris Jericho becoming the guest referee for Owens vs. Rollins is a good idea?
