9. Christian’s World Title Reigns – 2011

After Wrestlemania 27, Edge retired from all wrestling duties due to his health. At the time, he was the World Heavyweight Champion. When Edge retired, he vacated the title. The next month at Extreme Rules, Alberto Del Rio and Christian had a ladder match that Christian won to become a WWE World Champion.

Two days later, Randy Orton defeated him for the same title. That was a crushing blow to Christian’s momentum and to the fans that had waited so long to watch him reach up to grab the gold. The Christian vs. Randy Orton feud is still criminally underrated because it occurred during the Summer of Punk.

But, Christian never received a legitimate World Championship reign.
