Another one bites the dust. WWE has a lot of programming every single week, with more content and shows than it often knows what to do with. That offers a lot of things for viewers to watch and oftentimes, the whole idea can be a little overwhelming. It is a bit of a problem at times, but now the schedule might be lightened up a bit, even though it isn’t to WWE’s wishes.
One of the bonus features included in SmackDown’s move to FOX last year was the addition of WWE Backstage, a weekly studio based show. The series offered a recap of major stories, interviews and analysis from an expert panel. Backstage aired weekly on Fox Sports 1 and often capped off a night of WWE programming, including a classic pay per view. Now though, the schedule might be changing a bit.
According to John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal, Fox Sports 1 has suspended production of Backstage, effectively ending the series. The network is also eliminating their boxing show Inside PBC, meaning that it is not just a WWE situation. According to PWInsider.com, the show is “done” in its current format, though there is a chance it could be brought back as special programming in the future, though there is no way of knowing when that could happen.
FS1 is scaling back production on its boxing and WWE shoulder programming. "WWE Backstage will not longer be produced weekly. It is eliminating "Inside PBC." Double digit job losses as a result. SBJ Media will have the full story tonight.

There have been some backstage moments. Check out a different version of the concept:
Opinion: I can’t say I’m surprised here as there wasn’t exactly much of a draw to watching the show on a weekly basis. WWE does a lot of recapping on their own shows so why would I want to sit up until fairly late at night to watch wrestlers talking about what is going on in the week? It was something worth watching every now and then, but not something that needed to be there weekly.
