It’s just temporary. One of the more unique concepts that WWE has presented this year is Raw Underground. The idea sees Shane McMahon starting an underground fight club and having several WWE wrestlers get in “real” fights to see who is the toughest. Some names are going to stand out more than others, but as usual the biggest people are the ones who stand out most. That was on display this week, but why was that the case?

Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, former Universal Champion Braun Strowman made his Raw Underground debut by destroying Dolph Ziggler and Riddick Moss. After dispatching of the two of them, Strowman had a showdown with the even bigger Dabba-Kato. McMahon set up a match for next week, but the bigger question is about Strowman. Why is he on the other show in the first place? Now we have some answers.

According to Tom Colohue on the Dropkick DiSKussion podcast, Strowman appeared on Monday Night Raw because creative has nothing for him on SmackDown at the moment and he has to be on TV somehow. Strowman is still considered a part of the SmackDown roster and there is no word on any moves in the near future. It is not clear how long Strowman will appear on Raw Underground.

Strowman was a monster on Raw Underground. Check out his debut:

Opinion: There is something to be said about someone who is there to do nothing more than to run people over and make them look helpless. Strowman has not done much since losing at Payback so putting him out there in something like this could work well. Raw Underground may not be for everyone, but at least it has been used to advance some storylines.

What do you think of Strowman? What is next for him? Let us know in the comments below.
