I’d call that a good reason. The outbreak of the Coronavirus has changed the way things work in the world and that is showing no signs of slowing down. The disease has ravaged all kinds of things and there is a good reason to believe that wrestling is going to be very different for a long time to come. As a result, some wrestlers are going to be out of action, and that can include WrestleMania.
We are less than two weeks away from WrestleMania (or even closer depending on when it is taped in advance) and a lot of the matches have already been set. However, given the current situation, there is always the chance that you might see someone announced for a match and then pulled at the last second. That seems to be the case and now we know what happened.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Dana Brooke was pulled from the SmackDown Women’s Title six way match due to being placed in quarantine. It is not clear what is wrong with Brooke or if she has been diagnosed with anything. We reported yesterday that Brooke’s picture had been removed from the WWE.com preview of the match for no explained reason. There is no word on who, if anyone, will replace Brooke in the match.
The match could have been bigger. Check out how it was set up and what they were missing:
Opinion: Brooke was not likely to be a factor in the match but it is always scary to hear that someone has to be pulled out of a match this big, especially in the current situation. Hopefully there is nothing seriously wrong with Brooke, but this certainly does not sound great. Maybe it is just being cautious, but at the moment, you certainly can’t be too safe with anything.
How do you see the match going? Who should replace Brooke? Let us know in the comments below.
