He’s worth keeping. WWE is the biggest wrestling company in the world, but that does not mean it is the only game in town. With the rise of AEW, there is now another major promotion on the scene for a change, in addition to all of the other promotions out there. That means wrestlers can be pursued in a way that has not been the case in a long time. WWE is now trying to keep a certain star in house.
Mixed martial artists crossing over to professional wrestling have a pretty good track record. Of course you have Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey, but there have been several other stars to come from the octagon to the wrestling ring with some great success. WWE has its share of them, and now they want to lock down one of their more prominent such stars down long term.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Riddle’s WWE contract expires in August 2021 and WWE is making a strong push to sign Riddle to a long term deal. While no deal has been officially signed, Riddle has tentatively agreed to a deal worth $400,000 a year, with an additional $50,000 for every Saudi Arabia show. Riddle has been part of the main roster since June of this year.
Riddle has done well in WWE. Check out some of his better moments:
Opinion: WWE would be smart to try and keep Riddle around as he is one of the bigger prospects that the company has. While he might not have the most conventional character, there is something about the way he can turn it on when necessary that makes him feel like a star. That’s the kind of thing you can’t manufacture and it would make all the sense in the world to keep him away from anyone else.
What do you think of Riddle? Will he stay in WWE? Let us know in the comments below.
