There’s still time. Title matches are one of the easiest things in the world for a wrestling company to put together. Take a champion, find someone who wants the title, and have the two of them face off for the championship. You can go on with that for months on end with different combinations and twists. You can see all kinds of them, and now we might be seeing one of them a bit sooner than expected.

There are very few wrestlers as physically dominant as Bobby Lashley. You almost never see someone with the combination of size, strength and amateur wrestling ability. That is the kind of thing you can’t create in a laboratory and Lashley has gotten better as the years go on. Lashley is the reigning United States Champion and now we might know when his next major title defense will take place.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the expected United States Title match between Lashley and Riddle is likely to take place at the Royal Rumble in January rather than at Tables, Ladders And Chairs on Sunday. This is not set in stone though and the plans may change before this weekend’s pay per view. The match has yet to be announced, though the two have teased a future match.

There is something brewing. Check out the the build towards the match:

Opinion: I like this idea as it would be better to let things be properly set up than rush through everything for the sake of adding another title match to an already stacked card. Royal Rumble is a bigger show than Tables Ladders And Chairs and it would be nice to see these two have a larger stage for their match. I’m curious to see how the match goes too, as it could be quite the pick em.

When do you think the match will take place? Who will leave as champion? Let us know in the comments below.
