There’s his next job. It is pretty rare to find a WWE star who is still a big deal when they make it into their late 40s but R-Truth has managed to make it work. Despite having made his company debut all the way back in the late 1990s, R-Truth is still around today and gets quite a nice bit of television time every single week. Now he is going to be getting an even bigger role in the near future.

We are coming up on the end of the year and that means that we are going to be looking back at the rest of the year. While 2020 might not have been the best year in the world for WWE, there were several good things to look back on. If there is one thing that WWE knows how to do, it is look back at their own past and pat themselves on the back. That si where R-Truth comes in.

The Bump has announced that R-Truth will be hosting the 2020 Slammy Awards, which will be taking place next Wednesday on the show. This will be the first edition of the show since 2015 and will feature the traditional assortment of awards. This edition will be the first that does not take place on Monday Night Raw since the 1997 edition. There is no word on if NXT will be included as well.

It’s good to have them back. Check out the announcement and some great Slammy moments:

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that R-Truth is made for as the show isn’t exactly the most serious thing in the world and neither is he. Let him go out there and do his shtick with some funny lines and antics, which won’t feel as forced on something like this. R-Truth is the kind of guy who can do a lot of things and hopefully he gets to shine as well as he is capable of doing here.

What do you think of R-Truth as the host? Who will win the awards? Let us know in the comments below.
