That’s how you become a big heel. Over the last few months, there have been very few WWE names as hot as Randy Orton. He has been great before but this has been one of the most impressive runs of his career. Orton has been running roughshod over Monday Night Raw and the only person left to slow him down is WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. That match will take place at Summerslam, but there is something to get through first.

One of the features of Orton’s recent run has been having Ric Flair in his corner. Flair has ordained Orton as the greatest wrestler of all time, which is quite the compliment coming from someone with Flair’s resume. While Flair and Orton have a positive history together, they also have some bad moments to go along with it, and we might be seeing more of the latter in the near future.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, an angle will take place on this week’s Monday Night Raw which will see Orton attack Flair in some way to write him off of television. It it not clear how Orton will get rid of Flair, but the angle has been taped in advance and is in the script for this week’s show. There is no word on if Flair will be back to television in the future.

Leave the memories alone. Check out Orton and Flair’s time together:

Opinion: There are only so many things that Flair can do for Orton, who is a legend in his own right. It’s true that Flair can offer a lot to a wrestler, but Orton has everything that Flair can give him. I don’t see the need to keep him around any longer so moving forward without Flair, especially with the major showdown against McIntyre coming up, makes more sense than anything else.

How would you get rid of Flair? Will Orton win the title? Let us know in the comments below.
