Can you blame them? One of the biggest stories of the last year has been the Wednesday Night Wars, as NXT and AEW Dynamite have gone head to head for about ten months, providing us with a wide variety of high quality wrestling action. That is the kind of thing that wrestling fans have been wanting for a long time, but one side has been doing a bit better and the other side isn’t happy.

While the two sides have gone head to head for so long, AEW has gotten the better of NXT far more often than not. AEW has only lost a few weeks in the television audience numbers, but they have virtually dominated the demographics ratings battle. That has caused WWE to attempt to do something to make up the ground and now they are not all that thrilled with how things are going.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is not pleased with the way the NXT audience and ratings numbers have gone. As a result, WWE has added two more writers to the NXT creative team, one of whom was brought back to the company to fill the job. NXT has always had WWE writers, but since the move to live on Wednesdays, the NXT writers are now exclusive. WWE is also considering adding more main roster wrestlers to NXT to help boost the numbers.

The show has done fairly well. Check out what NXT has done this week:

Opinion: I’m not sure what to think about this. While AEW has been defeating NXT’s audience, they are not exactly destroying the other company. At the same time though, NXT is the third league of WWE’s company and they are beating the best that AEW has to offer. That is hardly a surprise, but if WWE starts sending in their big stars, I’m not sure how long those numbers are going to hold up.
