You had to know this was coming one day. There is nothing bigger going on in the world at the moment than the spread of the Coronavirus. Countries have basically gone on lockdown because of it and all kinds of industries, including wrestling, have almost been stopped cold as a result. For most people, it has become a question of when someone you know will get sick and that is no longer the case in WWE.

One of the biggest issues that a lot of people have had with WWE and AEW moving forward with their events is the possibility of spreading the virus should someone involved get sick. It is a case of one person contracting the virus and spreading it around, which is a fair criticism. So far the wrestlers have stayed safe, but that is no longer the case for the WWE as a whole.

According to Fightful.com, WWE has sent its wrestlers a memo stating that a WWE employee has tested positive for Coronavirus. The unnamed employee is not an in-ring performer and has not had any contact with anyone at the Performance Center since March 26, meaning anyone possibly infected would now be cleared.

WWE has issued a statement on the situation to Pro Wrestling Sheet:

“A WWE employee has tested positive for COVID-19. We believe this matter is low risk to WWE talent and staff, as the individual and a roommate became symptomatic in the days following exposure to two people working in acute health care on the evening of March 26, after WWE’s TV production on a closed set was already complete. The employee had no contact with anyone from WWE since being exposed to those two individuals, is doing well, and made a complete recovery.”

This is a serious moment, so we could use something lighthearted. Check out some of the funnier WWE moments:

Opinion: This is something everyone knew was going to happen at some point and it continues to make WWE look pretty bad. There are only so many things that you can do in a situation like this and WWE can only do so many things without looking completely horrible for moving forward. This is a step closer to the wrestlers getting sick and that is not going to end well whatsoever.

How bad does this make the company look? What should they do in this situation? Let us know in the comments below.
