They have the talent. The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the way wrestling works and obviously that has not been a good thing, especially from the business side of things. Wrestling promotions have not had the chance to do much over the last year as far as live events are concerned, so they have to make what money they can where they can. For some promotions this is through television or streaming, and now we might be seeing something new.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is considering introducing a new streaming show which would allow under utilized NXT stars a chance to get more ring time. The idea is to make up for the lack of NXT live events, which have not taken place in the last year, leaving several NXT wrestlers on the sidelines for months aside from working and training at the Performance Center.

This comes on the same day as news of WWE considering working with Major League Wrestling to offer various wrestlers another place to work while still being under contract with WWE. There is no word on when the series would be debuting, who would be wrestling on it, or any other details, aside from the fact that it would air on the Peacock streaming service.

Opinion: This is something that I could go with, as there are so many wrestlers who are sitting around doing nothing at the moment. That has been the case for far too long now, as these wrestlers are signed by the company but there is nowhere to put them due to how many wrestlers WWE signs. I’m not sure how well it would work, but it is nice to see the chance of something changing.

Now that being said, I’m also more than a little skeptical about WWE being able to make this work. The big problem is that these wrestlers are not getting enough television time. Given how many television shows WWE already has, it is almost hard to fathom that one more show will do the trick. Granted a lot of the problem is due to the pandemic, but this might not be the big grand solution.

What do you think of the idea? Will it work? Let us know in the comments below.
