What could have been. The Coronavirus pandemic is still in full swing and there have been a lot of issues to shake up the wrestling industry. This has been the case in every promotion from the big to the small, including WWE. It is the case with all branches of the promotion, including the international wing. Now it seems that we will not be seeing another major show.
WWE has confirmed that the upcoming NXT UK Takeover: Dublin has been canceled. The show was scheduled for June 20 at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. This is at least the second time that the show has been canceled, as it was originally planned for April 2020 before being postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. There were no matches announced for the show in advance.
WWE has given me a statement on #NXTUK TakeOver: Dublin.

Opinion: I had forgotten this show was actually taking place at all so I can’t say I’m surprised it was canceled. Hopefully NXT UK can get to run another Takeover event sooner than later, as they could use something to build towards. It makes sense with the Coronavirus pandemic taking place, but at least they have made a decision on it to not leave fans waiting on something that isn’t coming.
What did you expect from the show? When will a Takeover be held? Let us know in the comments below.
