He had to get there eventually. There are a lot of different layers to the WWE structure and some of them receive a lot more attention than others. Not only are there the main WWE shows, but the developmental program is alive and well, with NXT growing from little more than filler programming to an actual third show. However, that third show might be about to change.

While WWE is the biggest and most powerful wrestling company in the world and has been for a long time now, there are certain things about it that a lot of fans do not care for. A lot of this starts at the top with Vince McMahon, whose booking style has not been the most popular for a lot of fans. There are certain tropes that you will see from him and they might be making their way to NXT.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, McMahon has taken more of an interest in NXT as of late. This was evidenced by this week’s show, which included Robert Stone vomiting in the ring and the announcement of a Winner Take All match for the NXT and North American Titles on the July 8 show. There is no word on McMahon officially taking over any of the creative duties in NXT.

I’m not sure how well this will go. Check out McMahon’s influence on NXT so far:

Opinion: As an NXT fan, I can’t say I’m exactly thrilled by seeing this. One of the best things about NXT was having it be a lot further away from McMahon and a lot of his booking style. That being said, McMahon and WWE are in the spots they are in for a reason and a lot of that has to do with what he has done. He knows how to book big ideas, though I’m not sure what good it is going to do with all of the smaller stuff included.

Is more McMahon in NXT a good thing? What needs to change in NXT? Let us know in the comments below.
