Video: WWE Releases Latest Batch Of Power Rankings

Count em up. If there’s one thing wrestling fans love to do, it’s come up with rankings. Whether it’s the best pay per views, the top dream matches, or the best use of nu-metal in a music video package for a non-Big Four pay per view with a non-World Title match main events, fans enjoy listing things in order. It’s such a fun thing to do that even WWE has gotten in on the act.

There’s only one number one.

Ronda Rousey seizes the throne: WWE Power Rankings, Aug. 26, 2018

Via YouTube, WWE has released their latest quarterly Power Rankings, with the latest batch being released after last Sunday’s Summerslam. The rankings are designed to list the top ten stars/teams in WWE over the last four months based on their recent accomplishments. WWE usually releases a new set after each of the Big Four pay per views, with the most recent being released after WrestleMania 34 and the next set coming after Survivor Series.

Opinion: I’m really not sure I understand how the methodology works on these things. New Day, who won a tournament to earn their title shot and then picked up the titles, is lower than Charlotte, who has won two matches since being back? And the B Team makes the list but Samoa Joe, who won his match with AJ Styles at Summerslam, doesn’t crack the top ten? These things are all over the place.
