They just made the list! On Wednesday night, NXT made its long awaited debut on the USA Network. This was quite the jump for the promotion, which is now moving from the WWE Network to cable television, putting it on similar footing to Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live (for one more week at least). The show did well enough, but it wasn’t without some casualties.
In a new edition of WWE Now posted to their YouTube channel, WWE has announced three injuries that came out of this week’s NXT. Arturo Ruas needed an X-ray on his finger, which Pete Dunne snapped to end their match and Kona Reeves was busted open during a dark match and needed stitches with possible damage to his orbital bone. The big one though is Velveteen Dream, whose back was injured during his loss to Roderick Strong. None are currently cleared to return to the ring, though all of these may be storyline injuries.
That’s a lot of pain. Check out the announcement from WWE:
Opinion: Other than Dream, the injuries don’t sound like the biggest deals, though any injury is a bad one. There is a good chance that this is a way to keep Dream off television before he can make a big return and likely set up something at Takeover: WarGames III. Either way, it was a strong performance from him last night and if he can keep going like he has been, the sky may be the limit for him.
