It’s time to go all out. With less than three weeks to go before SmackDown Live moves over to FOX. That is quite the major move for WWE and it means that they have to be ready for their big opportunity. At the same time though, FOX is going to be promoting things on their end and that is going to mean something that you don’t usually get from broadcast television.

In a press release, FOX Sports has announced a series of specials that will be airing on the network in the buildup to SmackDown Live’s debut on October 4. These specials, which will each have a specific theme, will be hosted or narrated by various wrestling personalities. In addition to the regular specials, there will be a Blue Carpet special to set up the official debut of SmackDown Live. Here are the details of what is coming:

SmackDown’s Greatest Hits – September 27, 8pm EST, Hosted by Charlotte and The Miz

WrestleMaina’s Legendary Moments – September 29, time TBA due to NFL coverage, Narrated by John Cena

SmackDown Kickoff Show – October 4, 7:30pm EST, Blue Carpet Special

WWE certainly has something planned. Check out the official trailer for the show:

Opinion: This is one of those things that you don’t get very often but it really is a huge deal. WWE is getting one big chance to have their shot on this major network and if they screw something up, they will never get another chance again. FOX is clearly all in with the deal as well and those specials could go a long way towards setting the stage for everything they have coming up. Now if only it can work.
