Remember those guys? Factions are an idea that come and go throughout wrestling companies. Some of them are a lot more successful than others, but when you get a top stable going, they are able to make quite the impact in a short amount of time. Maybe it is what they win or maybe it is the sheer numbers, but it can be done very well if given the proper chance. Had it not been for the Coronavirus, we might have seen a big one come back again.

Back in 2010, NXT finished its first season (back when it had seasons) with Wade Barrett winning the competition. Before he made much of an impact on his own though, the rest of the competitors in the season returned and formed the Nexus. The team stayed around for the rest of the year in dominant fashion but were disbanded by December. It turns out that a reunion was in the cards for this year.

Former Nexus member Darren Young appeared on the Dropkick Podcast and revealed that the Nexus was scheduled to return to WWE at WrestleMania 36. There is no word on if the appearance would have been for one night or a permanent move. The original Nexus was eliminated in December 2010 when John Cena defeated Barrett at Tables Ladders And Chairs 2010, though the New Nexus continued into 2011 under CM Punk’s leadership.

It was quite the interview. Check out Young’s appearance and some of the best of the Nexus:

Opinion: This is one of those things where I’d believe it when I saw it. Who in the world was asking for a Nexus reunion after nearly ten years away? The team was mainly a bunch of lower level stars and of the original lineup, only Daniel Bryan is even still with the company. I’m not sure how much I buy this, but it certainly sounds like something interesting, even if it might not be for the best reasons.
