There’s a reason for that. Back in 2017, Bobby Lashley made a return to the WWE and seemed ready to become a star. Lashley had been a big deal and a hot prospect in the company during his original run but he never won one of the major World Titles and never reached the peak level that was expected of him. A trip to Impact Wrestling did well for him though and he seemed prime to become a star again on his second run with WWE. Then some….funny….things happened.

Since Lashley has returned to the company, he has been the subject of some rather horrible moments and poorly received storylines, ranging from Sami Zayn bringing out Lashley’s “sisters” to never ending feuds to his current storyline with Lana, which has not been so well received. As it turns out, Lashley is doing all of this for one specific reason and it might still take place.

Lashley was recently a guest on Dropkick DiSKussions where he talked about why he goes through so many questionable stories. Lashley said that his entire goal for everything is a match against Brock Lesnar. He understands that he has gone through all kinds of stories for various reasons but is still determined to get his match against Lesnar. At the moment, there is no word on any potential match between the two.

Lashley has made this clear for a long time. Check out his recent interview and another one from more than a year ago with the same message:

WWE Superstar Bobby Lashley diSKusses Survivor Series, Braun Strowman & more | Dropkick DiSKussions

Opinion: This is a situation where I could see this taking place and I’m not sure what WWE’s objection to it would be. Maybe they think the match would be too much of a clash of styles but it could make for an interesting story. It doesn’t help when Lesnar is almost never around so his matches can only take place every so often, but I would still like to see it take place someday.
