A new home. Back in April, WWE released several names from their contracts. That changed the way the wrestling landscape looked as there were suddenly several free agents available with only so many places that could take them. That wasn’t the entirety of the whole thing though as NXT also saw several releases, though some of those names were not announced. Now we are starting to see some of them appearing elsewhere though and that was the case again this week.
There is a lot of talent in NXT but not everyone can make it up to the big time. One of the problems with the Coronavirus situation has been the shutdown of the NXT Florida house show loop, which has left a lot of wrestlers out of the ring. Several of those names have been let go from the company, despite how talented they are. One of those names popped up again on Wednesday.
During this week’s AEW Dynamite, former NXT talent MJ Jenkins appeared in a tag team match with Kenzi Page in a losing effort against Allie and Brandi Rhodes. There is no word on if Jenkins has been signed to a contract with the company. Jenkins is not the first former NXT name to appear on AEW television, as Fabian Aichner also appeared in the crowd earlier this month, though he was not mentioned by name. Jenkins’ most recent NXT match took place on the January 15 NXT when she took part in a battle royal.
She could do some stuff here. Check out Jenkins in AEW and WWE:
Opinion: Jenkins isn’t quite the biggest name from NXT but she could be just fine as a filler in AEW. If nothing else, it is nice to see someone who has any kind of experience under the WWE system. She knows what it is like to be on TV in a big moment. I’m not sure if she is going to be anything of note in AEW but at least she is getting a chance to do something in a major promotion.
What do you think of Jenkins? What can she do in AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
