Triple Brand Match Set For Next Week’s SmackDown

Triple shot on SmackDown. WWE has one heck of a roster at its disposal, including three different full time sets of wrestlers. That is the kind of thing that no one else can really approach and WWE knows how to use it to their advantage. You get a rather different kind of wrestling show if you watch NXT and the two main roster shows are different enough. Those lines are going to be blurred a bit next week though.

It might not seem possible, but Bayley is rapidly approaching a full year as SmackDown Women’s Champion. That is the all time record for the title and is getting into Becky Lynch territory. With such a long reign, Bayley is running out of challengers to come after her title. Something needs to be shaken up, and that will take place during next week’s episode of SmackDown.

This week on SmackDown, Stephanie McMahon appeared via satellite and announced a triple brand battle royal for next week’s SmackDown, featuring women from Monday Night Raw, SmackDown and NXT. The winner will face Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Title at Summerslam. There is no word on how many women will be included, either from each brand or in total.

There are some serious options. Check out some people who may be challenging:

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that they need to do. Bayley has absolutely dominated the SmackDown women’s division and with so few challengers left, they need to bring in someone else to give her a fresh challenge. It could certainly be interesting, and with Summerslam on the horizon, we could be seeing some very unique matches, which is what Bayley needs at the moment.
