Not so fast? We are in a very different time in the wrestling world as the Coronavirus has changed everything in a hurry. The biggest change has been the lack of fans in attendance at the events, as there are only so many ways that a wrestling company can present an empty arena. That limit has caused some changes in direction and may do so again in a big way.

In less than a month, AEW is presenting its annual All Out event. The show will be one of AEW’s biggest of the year and the show’s main event has already been set, with Maxwell Jacob Friedman challenging Jon Moxley for the World Title. Friedman has yet to be defeated in a singles match in AEW and a title change is far from out of the question. However, there may be another factor at work.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW may be waiting for fans to be back in the arena before moving forward with a major title change. The company wants such a moment to have the appropriate reaction, as they want to avoid a similar situation to Drew McIntyre winning the WWE Championship in front of no fans at WrestleMania 36. At the same time though, it is not clear how long it will be before fans are allowed to return.

They both seem ready. Check out Moxley and Friedman in action:

Opinion: I can see both sides of this. It’s true that you want the big atmosphere for something this important, but at the same time, how long can you wait on the chance? Moxley has held the title for over five months and while he has done well, I don’t know how much longer he needs the thing. Friedman is not a completely established star yet and having him lose would feel like the wrong move here. If they are going to do the change, I can’t see it going on much further out than the pay per view, so maybe biting the bullet is the right call.

Should the title change take hands? How would you have Moxley lose? Let us know in the comments below.
