The champ was there! With Fastlane and much more importantly WrestleMania 35 on the horizon, it’s time to really hammer home the build towards both shows. I mean, it’s pretty clear that WWE doesn’t care about what happens with Fastlane, but it would be nice if they pretended to. At least they seem to care about the audience who comes to their shows every now and then, which was the case this week with a big dark match.
According to 411mania.com, the post show dark match for this week’s SmackDown Live was a SmackDown Women’s Title match with champion Asuka defending against Charlotte. Asuka retained via submission with the Asuka Lock. Charlotte appeared on the show earlier in the night to talk about Becky Lynch while Asuka didn’t make an appearance after last week’s loss to Mandy Rose.
Asuka can get intense too. Check out her attacking Lynch in a cool angle last month:
Opinion: This has been the dark match multiple times but there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s something to be said about the women getting to be the big feature attraction that WWE trust to keep the fans around until the end of the night. You don’t get that very often but at least it’s something rather entertaining between two women who can have a good match together.
Do you like these two as a dark match? Who is better between the two of them? Let us know in the comments below.
