Smackdown Live may have a new name soon. In a major surprise to open this week’s episode of Smackdown Live, Kevin Owens made his return to WWE programming. But that wasn’t the biggest news of the segment.
Kofi Kingston was preparing to sign his contract to challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at the upcoming 2019 Fastlane pay-per-view. However, Vince McMahon interrupted the contract singing, and announced KO’s return.
He would then say that Owens will be replacing Kingston and will now challenge Bryan for the championship.
Here’s what Kevin Owens has been up to since he’s been gone:
I really hope that this doesn’t end up staying this way. The world has been waiting for Kingston vs. Bryan for a couple of weeks; however, this could mean that Kofi’s championship victory could be saved for a bigger stage. We will have to see. However, I’m THRILLED that Kevin Owens is back!!
