I’d say he’s earned it. There are almost no legends in the world of wrestling on the Undertaker’s level. The man has gone from an amazing gimmick upon his debut to one of the biggest stars the WWE has ever seen. That and that alone should be enough to make his career, but when you factor in everything that he has done in the ring, it is made even better. Now, WWE is giving him a tribute in a unique way.
There is no denying that the Undertaker’s in-ring career is wrapping up. He more or less said that he was retired during the final episode of the Last Ride documentary series. While there is no way of knowing for sure if Undertaker will never get back in the ring again, his appearances are going to be few and far between. We may have seen his final match though, and now we might get to again.
WWE.com has announced that they will be paying a special tribute to the Undertaker on this week’s SmackDown, including airing the Boneyard match from WrestleMania 36 in full. There is nothing to suggest that the Undertaker will be appearing in person or on location on the show. Undertaker has not appeared on WWE television since WrestleMania 36 on April 4.

Opinion: This sounds a cross between two things. First of all, it is a way to pay tribute to the Undertaker, who very well may have wrestled his last match. At the same time though, it seems like a way to fill in television time when there are not going to be as many people available for the show due to Coronavirus issues. That isn’t a bad thing either way, but it is certainly a good use of WWE’s resources.
