Beefing it way up. Wrestling companies need signature shows. There is something special about a company developing its own history and identity, which can be done by having a variety of shows that are known as their own. While AEW has not been around all that long, they have a few shows that they have produced before, meaning that there is still a lot of room to add to the list. That will start next Wednesday.

Next week, AEW will air the first of two special episodes of Dynamite, collectively known as Fyter Fest. The event took place in 2019 as well, albeit as a stand alone event. AEW is going out of its way to make the show a bigger deal, with all four of the company’s titles scheduled to be defended. They needed some more though and that was taken care of this week.

During this week’s episode of Dynamite, several new matches were announced for both weeks of Fyter Fest. Announced this week were:

• Private Party vs. Santana/Ortiz
• Maxwell Jacob Friedman/Wardlow vs. Jungle Boy/Luchasaurus
• FTR/Young Bucks vs. Butcher & Blade/Lucha Bros
• Lance Archer vs. Joey Janela
• SCU vs. Brodie Lee/Stu Grayson/Colt Cabana
• Nyla Rose vs. TBA

Here are the current lineups for both nights:

Night One (July 1)
• Tag Team Titles: Hangman Page/Kenny Omega(c) vs. Best Friends
• TNT Title: Cody(c) vs. Jake Hager
• Women’s Title: Hikaru Shida(c) vs. Penelope Ford
• Private Party vs. Santana/Ortiz
• Maxwell Jacob Friedman/Wardlow vs. Luchasaurus/Jungle Boy

Night Two (July 8)
• World Title: Jon Moxley(c) vs. Brian Cage
• Chris Jericho vs. Orange Cassidy
• FTR/Young Bucks vs. Butcher & Blade/Lucha Bros
• Lance Archer vs. Joey Janela
• SCU vs. Brodie Lee/Stu Grayson/Colt Cabana
• Nyla Rose vs. TBA

There is still the chance that more matches could be added to either night of the show. It is also not clear if Moxley will be able to defend his title as his wife Renee Young has been diagnosed with the Coronavirus. Moxley missed this week’s episode of Dynamite over concerns about the virus.

It was a busy night. Check out some of the hype for Fyter Fest:

Opinion: The card is certainly stacked and that is the kind of thing that I can always go for. AEW knows how to make a big show feel important and their track record is quite good in things like this. Hopefully they can continue their hot streak over the next two weeks, which is certainly a possibility given the cards they have here. Now just make it work for everyone involved.
