They’re not wasting time. Things are starting to get interesting as we move closer and closer to AEW running full time. We’re less than four months away from their weekly television show but we’re also only about two and a half months away from All Out. That show can serve as a launchpad to the future for the company and as it turns out, some ideas will be taking place there.
In the latest edition of Road To Fyter Fest, AEW has announced that their first Women’s Champion will be unveiled at All Out, though there was nothing said about when the champion would be crowned. This comes after AEW President Tony Khan announced that the first AEW Tag Team Champions would be crowned at All Out, which takes place on August 31.
There is a lot in here. Check out the full episode including the announcement:
Opinion: This is a logical step, but more importantly I like the idea of not having the champion crowned on the same show as the Tag Team Titles. Let each title have their own moment so one of them isn’t overlooked. The Tag Team Titles are going to feel like a bigger deal and there is no reason to make the other title feel like it doesn’t matter. Now it can have its own focus later on.
