Sasha Banks Wins Raw Women’s Title On Monday Night Raw

We had seen it before and it was just as impressive this time. Earlier tonight on “Monday Night Raw”, Sasha Banks defeated Charlotte with the Bank Statement to become a two time Raw Women’s Champion. This is the second time that Banks has defeated Charlotte for the title on “Monday Night Raw” in less than four months.

WWE made a big point out of treating this as a huge rivalry with talk dating all the way back to their NXT days over two years ago. The two of them also fought for the NXT Women’s Title with Banks beating Charlotte for the belt in 2015. This was the main event of “Monday Night Raw”, which the two of them have done twice in the last three and a half months. The Women’s Title was the main event of the show once in over eleven years leading up to this.

 

Banks winning the title was almost the only possible option. Banks is a huge star and one of the most popular wrestlers on the roster so putting the title back on her made sense. There’s almost a guaranteed rematch at the next pay per view and it’s going to be a huge deal all over again. While not as historic as Trish Stratus vs. Lita (yet), the match quality between these two has been second to none.
