Shortly after the brand split became a reality, Jinder Mahal returned to WWE under the Raw brand. Let’s just say that the WWE Universe was indifferent about his return.

WWE may be indifferent as well since he’s been used as an enhancement talent on Raw since his return after returning to his old gimmick like nothing happened and returned to doing segments like this one:

How exactly does a segment like this get him over as a heel in the midcard? The gimmick didn’t work a few years ago, so why would it work now? Mahal should be destroying guys in the ring for months and then achieve “inner peace.”

All of a sudden, he has a little bit of momentum. From that point, who knows what is possible. Mahal is a pretty good worker, but he has zero connection with the fans.

The best case scenario is he surprises a lot of people, gets a push, and makes a career out of it. He doesn’t need to be remembered as just a jobber. He can be used to help build someone like Braun Strowman or Roman Reigns. He’s capable of more than this.
