He certainly deserves it. I love the Hall of Fame season. There’s something so fun about seeing who gets to be inducted that year and it’s even better when WWE doesn’t spoil it earlier in the day. The Hall of Fame might not be perfect but getting in still means something to some wrestlers as well as the fans of those wrestlers, whether they’re still around or not. Now, we have an idea of a new inductee.
According to Brian Sheppard on the Oh, You Didn’t Know podcast, Bam Bam Bigelow is a lock for this year’s Hall of Fame class. Bigelow, who passed away in 2007, was a mainstay of major wrestling companies from the late 1980s until the late 1990s. While he never won a title in the WWF and was only a midcarder in WCW, he was a World Champion in ECW and main evented WrestleMania 11 in 1995.
This was a great way to debut him and could still work today. Check out the Battle For Bam Bam:
Opinion: Works for me. Bigelow is one of the most unique looking wrestlers you’ll ever see and his in-ring abilities are still cited as the standard for athletic big men. He’s a case of a wrestler not needing a lot of titles to be a big deal as he rarely won championships but still made a huge impact. This is long overdue and Bigelow is someone who should have gotten a lot more attention than he did.
