The idea didn’t survive. As we roll closer to November, it’s time to get ready for Survivor Series. That means we have to start planning things for the annual Monday Night Raw vs. SmackDown Live showcase, with WWE talking about how it’s the only time of the year when the shows fight each other. You know, because the Royal Rumble and Mixed Match Challenge aren’t things anymore. However, there might be something different this time around and it’s a little more specific.
According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, there is a good chance that there won’t be much of a focus on Monday Night Raw vs. SmackDown Live at this year’s Survivor Series. Instead, the big elimination match might be Team Kurt Angle vs. Team Baron Corbin in a match over control of Monday Night Raw. At the moment, Corbin is the acting General Manager as Angle is on an extended leave from the position.
Hearing that Survivor Series won’t be focused to much, if at all, on RAW vs SmackDown this year. Good chance at a Team Corbin vs Team Angle matchup for RAW control.

Here’s a good starting point.
Opinion: I like this a lot more than the idea of the red vs. blue show again. That idea only works to a certain degree and it’s not something that I want to see happen. Going with a story that has been set up for a few months now makes a lot more sense than setting up the match for the sake of it’s November. Angle vs. Corbin is already set so go with something that makes sense with the work already done.
Which idea do you like better? Who would be on Team Angle or Team Corbin? Let us know in the comments below.
