While Dean Ambrose was recovering from a serious elbow injury, the WWE Universe spent those nine months anticipating a possible heel turn. Over the past few weeks, a lot of people have been confused about WWE officials openly teasing the turn and making it more obvious than normal. Apparently, WWE officials have a good reason behind it.

According to a new report from PWInsider Elite, WWE officials are aware that many in the WWE Universe knew of Ambrose’s upcoming heel turn. Unfortunately, casual fans may not be as aware since Ambrose missed nine months of action. The teasing and the booking is a way to refresh the WWE Universe’s memory to prepare them for the turn.

It’s unclear if WWE officials are ready to pull the trigger in Australia this weekend. The odds are good Ambrose’s turn will be a slow burn heading into Survivor Series or even something for WrestleMania 35. All signs are pointing to a major heel run for Ambrose sooner rather than later. WWE officials are making sure that most fans are aware of it.

Most fans are not going to appreciate the powers that be “reiterating” storylines to catch up “casual” fans. Game of Thrones doesn’t ensure their viewers are following along. The fans are expected to keep up with the show. WWE officials spelling it out for casual fans that Ambrose is turning heel eventually is the latest example of predictable storytelling.

Regardless of the execution of the turn, Dean Ambrose turning heel is just part one. The WWE Universe is anticipating feuds with Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and others in the months following the turn. If you’re concerned with the build to the turn, The Lunatic Fringe is going to put those concerns to rest in the months to follow on WWE television.

Do you believe a heel turn is a good idea for Dean Ambrose?
