A very special guest star. Over the last several months, the gap between the WWE’s two main rosters and NXT has shrunk considerably. Not only is NXT now a weekly series on national television, but several of its wrestlers have been featured on major shows with some great success. There is no doubt that some NXT wrestlers are ready to move up, but what about someone wanting to move down?

Legends are a very valuable thing in wrestling. At some point a wrestler reaches the point where their status is virtually secure no matter what they do. That is an important thing to have in any company and WWE is no exception. They have a variety of top stars on their roster and now one of them wants to take a trip down to developmental and see what they can do.

According to WrestleTalk, Randy Orton has been lobbying to go to NXT for some matches. Orton’s desired opponents include Tommaso Ciampa and Adam Cole. There is no word on when or if the request would be granted. This comes after Ciampa and Orton had a short Twitter feud over Orton’s dislike of the way NXT matches were booked. At the time, it was said that no match would take place between Orton and Ciampa.

This has potential. Check out all three in action:

Opinion: I could go for something like this and it wouldn’t be surprising to see something like this happening. It is no secret that WWE wants to boost NXT’s ratings and having one of the biggest stars in the company appear on the show would probably be a nice upgrade. Orton could work well with both of them and if he is willing to do so, WWE might want to look into going this way.

Do you think this will happen? Who would you like to see Orton face? Let us know in the comments below.
