Status update. Wrestlers are a very interesting breed. You never know when they might be moving around from one promotion to the other, because there are various reasons that they might leave. Someone who might be around for a long time could be gone in the blink of an eye, and as it turns out, that might be the case for a pretty big WWE name.
According to Joe Peisich on the No Holds Barred podcast, Dolph Ziggler has yet to re-sign with WWE and his contract is up before this year’s WrestleMania, which takes place in about two and a half months. Ziggler has not been on WWE TV since losing a cage match to Drew McIntyre on the January 1 episode of Monday Night Raw. Ziggler’s status has been uncertain for the last several months.
Ziggler certainly knows about contracts. Check out one of the loudest pops you’ll ever hear:
Opinion: Ziggler isn’t your normal case of someone leaving as he has a cult following and a lot of success in WWE. Assuming he doesn’t stick around, you know the AEW rumors are going to start up. That would be a nice signing for them, though Ziggler is the kind of guy who has both fans and detractors. Some will say that Ziggler is someone who needs to just go away already, and those people aren’t going to care where he wrestles.
What do you think of Ziggler? Where do you want him to be? Let us know in the comments below.
