His opinion matters the most. Vince McMahon is the most powerful and influential man in modern wrestling if not the history of the entire industry. There is almost nothing that he has not had his hand or influence on over the years and whatever he says is what matters most at the end of the day. No matter who he is focused on, that person’s career could be impacted by whatever he thinks. That may be a bad sign for some names on the Survivor Series card.

This year’s Survivor Series was headlined by a women’s triple threat match between Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler. The match was the final entry in a series of matches for Brand Supremacy with Baszler making Bayley submit to end the show. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the match headlined the show as a way to showcase Baszler, who is seen as a top priority for WWE. But what did McMahon think?

It was a big deal. Check out the main event:

According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, McMahon was not happy with how the match came off and viewed it as a “major disappointment”. The match ran about eighteen minutes and the live audience made various negative chants about it, including calling it boring and awful while also chanting for AEW. There is no word on how the match will impact the status of all three involved.

Opinion: I didn’t think the match was that bad, though it was a little bit dull. The biggest problem was WWE made it clear that the result did not really matter. The point of the show was the battle for Brand Supremacy and the best that SmackDown could have done was tie NXT for the win. There was nothing Monday Night Raw could have done so Lynch wasn’t a factor, and the bigger matches had already taken place. How exactly was this match supposed to go otherwise?
