There’s always room for one more. WWE has spent the last several weeks building up towards Survivor Series, with a lot of the build being centered around the NXT Invasion. The story is a rather simple one: NXT is now part of the battle for brand supremacy and has been getting in quite a few victories over Monday Night Raw and Smackdown. As a result, NXT is getting a singles match at Survivor Series, and now we know what is going on.

During NXT’s Takeover WarGames event, Pete Dunne defeated Damien Priest and Killian Dain. The winner would move on to Survivor Series to receive a title shot against NXT Champion Adam Cole. Dunne would go on to win the match and become the new #1 contender. This will be Dunne’s first shot at the NXT Title, though he did defend the NXT Title against Cole in March 2018.

It was a heck of a fight. Check out Dunne becoming #1 contender, Dunne vs. Cole in 2018 and Dunne’s thoughts before the title match:

Opinion: After everything that has taken place over the week, Cole has to lose right? He had a ladder match on Wednesday and WarGames on Saturday, so how fresh can he be on Saturday? Dunne wrestled on Saturday as well but it was a less physical and shorter match, so I’m not sure how much of an equalizer that would be. Dunne becoming champion would work well, but a run-in finish would not surprise me.

Do you think Dunne will win the title? Is he the right choice for the title shot? Let us know in the comments below.
