Riddle Revives Feud With Goldberg With New Shot

There’s the next shot. Wrestling is built on the idea of seeing people who do not like each other facing off in the ring. That is a great way to sell some tickets and has worked for most of the history of professional wrestling. One of the effective but less common ways to make things that much more interesting is if there is some real life personal animosity, and that seems to be the case again.

One of the more interesting backstage feuds in recent years has been Riddle vs. Goldberg. Riddle has taken a variety of shots at Goldberg over the last several months, with several of them being over Goldberg’s in-ring abilities involving his attempts at submission holds. This has led to a backstage incident which aired on the WWE Network, but it seems that things are far from over.

Goldberg parody wrestler Gillberg appeared on this week’s Monday Night Raw. Following the show, Riddle tweeted out a photo of himself with Gillberg, saying that Gillberg was ten times the man that Goldberg would ever be. There is nothing to suggest that Goldberg and Riddle are expected to work together in the future. Goldberg will be returning to Monday Night Raw next week before challenging Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble.

Opinion: I’m really not sure what Riddle is doing here and unless there is a big surprise coming one day, it seems to be him doing what he feels like and not worrying about what he is doing. Riddle vs. Goldberg is not exactly a match that has been promoted on television and Riddle’s comments have not made WWE television. It’s a curious situation and I don’t know how many positives there are for Riddle.
