Return To Glory. Edge Possible For Huge WrestleMania Match.

That would be different. Last year’s Royal Rumble was one of the final major wrestling WWE events with a full crowd. Those fans were treated to a rather special treat in the men’s Royal Rumble match. The match included all kinds of important and special moments, but Edge’s return might have been the biggest of all. It was the start of a big return, but now we might be in for the next huge step.

Edge made a surprise return during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw, marking his first appearance in over six months. Even though the appearance was a pre-taped vignette, Edge seemed primed and ready for his return at the 2021 Royal Rumble. Edge has not been in the ring since his Backlash match against Randy Orton, but now he might be in for a huge match later this year.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Edge is a possible opponent for either Universal Champion Roman Reigns or WWE Champion Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 37. The original plans had called for Edge to face Randy Orton, but with Orton likely facing the Fiend at WrestleMania, the door is opened for Edge to challenge for a World Title. Edge spoke about waning the title shot during his Monday Night Raw interview. Neither match has been confirmed for WrestleMania.

Opinion: That would certainly be a change of pace and I’d take it over another Edge vs. Orton match or Goldberg vs. Reigns. He is certainly a big enough star to warrant such a title match and seeing him get the title match at WrestleMania would be an amazing moment indeed. What matters the most is getting Edge back in the ring though, as he isn’t going to have much time left given his age and history of injuries.
