It has a history. This weekend, WWE is presenting the Royal Rumble, which has been running annually since January 1988. The show has become one of the most important nights of the year for WWE and that is going to be the case for a long time to come. The night offers all kinds of things in one single night and that includes some new additions to a rather deep history. Now they are offering their annual look at the show’s history.

The Royal Rumble has been around longer than almost any other show in WWE history and is one of the easiest to judge based on statistics. You have the number of entrants, the number of winners, the number of winners who move on to win at WrestleMania and far much more. For the last several years, WWE has presented a special look at the matches and that is the case again.

Here it is again. Check out this year’s Rumble By The Numbers:

WWE has released its annual Rumble By The Numbers video, which takes a look at the history of the Royal Rumble matches. The video breaks the matches down by numbers, including the number of participants, the number of winners, various statistics with regards to accomplishments and more. As usual, the video concludes by saying the numbers that matter most are thirty and one, with one winner out of thirty moving on to WrestleMania.

Opinion: I know I say this every year but I absolutely love this video and I look forward to it every January. There is something about it that tells you everything you need to know about the match’s history, which is third onto to WrestleMania and the Survivor Series in WWE’s lineage. It gets me in the right mood for the match and it is nice to see the numbers updated every year, which is exactly the point of the whole thing.
