Call the office. Referees are a part of wrestling that is often overlooked. They have to do a lot more than call for the bell and count pins as their job also includes relaying messages to the wrestlers and keeping track of everything going on. It is a tough job to pull off and one that very few in WWE get to do. Even fewer women get to do it, though that may be changing soon.
According to Casey Michael of Squared Circle Sirens, WWE is currently looking for more referees and female referees in particular. The news comes after Jessika Carr, a female referee who got her start in NXT in 2017, debuted on the main roster earlier this summer and also appeared as Maria Kanellis’ doctor in a backstage segment. There is no word on if these referees would debut in NXT or come straight to the main roster.
Unsure if the next WWE tryout is an all performance type thing or just for referees. WWE is actively looking for new referees, specifically female ones.

Carr’s hiring was a big deal. Check out an interview in NXT where fans got to know her:
Opinion: This is a nice thing to see as there is really no reason to have all male referees. There is no reason a female referee can’t do everything a man can do, so why not have some of them? In theory, the referee is there to enforce the rules so it’s not like they are required to get physical. Carr has been around for about two years now and the fact that she is a woman is nothing more than a detail, just as it should be. She’s good at her job and other female referees can be good at theirs, if they are given a chance.
