It might be short term in AEW. Managers are a very valuable asset to have in wrestling. There are all kinds of ways to use them, including as a mouthpiece, as someone to draw attention to a wrestler, or as someone who can take a beating for their wrestler. It works out well in a lot of instances and if you can find a pairing that works out well, you could be in for something special. That might not be the case in AEW.
While it has not been around all that long, AEW has put a focus on managers, with several wrestlers being paired up with one for various reasons. Some of these have been a lot more successful than others, but there certainly are a lot of options to pick from. However, one rather successful pairing might be done after the manager did something their client didn’t care for that much.
On Friday, Brian Cage sent out a tweet saying that he was considering firing Taz as his manager after Taz threw in the towel to end Cage’s AEW World Title match against Jon Moxley. The ending came as Moxley had Cage trapped in a cross armbreaker, forcing Taz to throw in the towel and end the match. Taz has said that he would do the same thing again if put in the same situation.
It's been a rough couple of days, and @OfficialTAZ and I have gone back and forth. I've considered relieving him of his duties, and wanted to immediately after the match. I'll wait and see how I feel after the weekend.

Regardless, I never tapped. I wasn't gonna tap. I only need one arm to drop mox on his head. I technically may no longer be undefeated, but I'm still unbeaten. And more importantly, the answer to the question "who betta than cage?", is still NOBODY!

some of you DO understand why I did what I did during the #AEW World Title match between @JonMoxley v @MrGMSI_BCage…but for those who are mad about it, understand this I would do the exact same thing in that same situation again. #AEWDynamite #FightForTheFallen

It was a heck of a fight. Check out how Cage vs. Moxley went down:
Opinion: I’m not sure what to do with something like this. Taz and Cage work together rather well, but it isn’t like Cage needs someone to do anything for him. The pairing has been quite the act so far and I’d like to see them together a lot longer. That being said, cage can do a lot of things on his own. Why mess with something that is working so well so far?
Do you like the pairing? Will Cage win the World Title? Let us know in the comments below.
